Locked keys
So it is always really fun to lock your keys in the car but worse with kids. We headed out to the park today because I didn't feel like cleaning and wanted an excuse. We got to the park and got all our shoes on and got out of the car with my cell and a water bottle. I then locked the car and shut the door. Instantly I knew what I had done. I just thought well we are about a mile away from home it shouldn't be that bad to walk home. About four minutes after playing on the park Jack said, "Mom the slide is too hot." I was sweating already. I guess we should have thought about that before we headed to the park at noon in August. So I said, "K lets start walking home because I can't open the door to the car." Jack said, "No I don't want to walk. Lets drive." I was so glad to have my cell so I called everyone in my contacts (who live within a five mile radius) One of them answered and said she was far away. CRAP!!! So I told Jack again that we had to walk. He was better this time. At one point he wanted to be held so sweaty and already breathing hard from holding Lucy and oh did I mention it was ALL uphill for a mile? Anyway I carried both of them and the water bottle for about twenty feet then put Jack down again. Twenty minutes, a whole water bottle, and BRIGHT red faces later we reached home. I then thought okay I will put the kids down for a nap and then ride Josh's bike back to get the car. Josh then informed me his bike wouldn't fit in my car. I thought, "Okay, I'll put on workout clothes and run back. So as I was running back I realized I hadn't run in three months. In the end it was pretty painful and pointless to run since I think I was doing a walking pace anyway. My car, both sets of keys and I are home now and the kids are still asleep.

Seriously!!! I can't believe you walked home a mile in August heat carrying two children, and then ran back!! So crazy... at least you weren't in Salt Lake somewhere :)
This is so sad & so funny! I swear I always do things like that thinking it will be cooler than it is. And darn those HOT slides!!
How miserable. That totally sounds like something I would do.
Well...at least it will jump start you return to running! haha!
